S.A.L.T.Y.'s mission is to provide

at-risk young men ages 13-17 a pathway to a bright future by providing the best early life skills program and opportunities to promote dignity and respect for their community and self.

GOAL: Provide mentorship, counsel, and guidance to at-risk males ages 13-17.

OBJECTIVES:
Encourage participation in group mentorship and one-on-one interactions with caring adult males.

  • Engage in weekly counseling sessions with a licensed professional therapist

  • Create opportunities for social interaction, peer to peer communication and conflict resolution

 

GOAL: Develop personal, social responsibility and character among at-risk males.
OBJECTIVES:

  • Develop responsibility and respect/care for self and others

  • Provide opportunities to contribute to the community through service and leadership

  • Encourage participation in service and community activity by at-risk males.

 

GOAL: To assist at-risk males in completing secondary education or GED.
OBJECTIVES:

  • Develop self-discipline and study habits

  • Improve basic academic skills

  • Improve educational achievement (Grade promotion and/or attainment of GED or H.S. diploma)

 

GOAL: To discourage use of illegal drugs and firearms, involvement in violence, and other delinquent activity by at-risk males.
OBJECTIVES:

  • Discourage youth from participating in gang activity, criminal activity, and other juvenile behaviors

  • Engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity on a daily basis

  • Share information through speakers, workshops, and other activities about healthy nutrition in order to make healthy and nutritional choices

  • Share information through speakers, workshops, and other activities about the dangers of smoking, alcohol, and drug use and abstain from their use
